About Bla Bla Car

Bla Bla Car  is the world’s leading community-based travel app enabling 27 million members a year to carpool or travel by bus in 21 countries. Our team of 800 employees counts over 50 nationalities and is spread across our 5 global offices, 30% working fully remotely.

Your mission

We are seeking a Front-End Web Engineer to join the Door to Door team. This pivotal role will directly contribute to one of Bla Bla Car 's key strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to rapidly iterate while also considering future system scalability.

You will thrive in an environment defined by high autonomy, where we encourage proactive involvement across various scopes of our product ecosystem and underlying architecture. As the sole web engineer on the team, you will have a unique platform for high-impact leadership: you will directly support, coach, and mentor another engineer as they ramp up on web technologies, shaping the future of our front-end expertise.

Beyond your team, you will contribute to various external scopes, including enhancing both passenger and driver experiences, while maintaining strong ownership of our core domain as a standalone supply. You will also be a key member of Bla Bla Car ’s Front-End Web Engineering Chapter, contributing to our web platform’s foundational architecture.

This is a unique opportunity to be a core contributor to the future of carpooling. Our mission is to develop a new “door-to-door” experience within the Bla Bla Car  product, offering the convenience of car ownership without the burden. We aim to expand our passenger and driver base by providing a richer and more diverse offering, potentially reaching individuals who currently don't consider carpooling.

This initiative is crucial for the continued global growth of carpooling and for achieving our #zeroemptyseats mission.

Our Ambitious Goals

By 2028, we target 1 million passengers utilizing this new feature, generating an additional €5 million in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV).
