Docusign is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our No

SQL & Blob STaaS platform team. This role owns the strategy, delivery, and operations of our core No

SQL and blob storage services, including availability, performance, security, and cost optimization across Azure and Google Cloud.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering.

Responsibilities include:

• Building and leading a sustainable, high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching, retention, and thoughtful organizational design
• Defining and executing a multi-year strategy for No
  
  SQL & Blob STaaS that balances operational excellence (SLOs, incidents, DR, cost) with platform roadmap (APIs, abstractions, deprecations, migrations)
• Owning the reliability, availability, and performance of our No
  
  SQL and blob platforms
• Partnering with architecture, security, and compliance to define and enforce guardrails
• Leading platform initiatives that reduce risk and cost
• Collaborating with partner teams (product engineering, SRE, finance, security, and vendor partners)
• Managing the engineering lifecycle for the team
• Conducting design and code reviews and raising the technical bar for distributed storage systems
• Ensuring high-quality engineering practices, including testing, automation, observability, and capacity planning
• Defining and tracking engineering KPIs (for example, incident counts, MTTR, SLO adherence, cost efficiency) and driving continuous improvement
• Creating a culture of learning, experimentation, and ownership that encourages engineers to tackle hard problems in distributed systems, storage, and multi-cloud infrastructure

Job Designation:

Hybrid:
Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building large-scale, highly available distributed systems or data platforms
• 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading backend, infrastructure, or platform teams
• Experience designing or operating No
  
  SQL and/or blob storage systems (for example, Cosmos DB, Cassandra, Firestore, DynamoDB, Azure Blob, GCS, S3 or equivalents)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure and/or Google Cloud), containers (Docker), and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience in at least one modern programming language (for example, C#, Java, Go, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code and automation
• Experience driving cross-team initiatives, including incident management, RCAs, and systemic reliability improvements

Wage Transparency:

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $ - $ base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

• Bonus:
  Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
• Stock:
  This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
