Senior Python Developer

SPD Technology builds AI‑powered legal content platforms to help law firms research, draft, and submit Chambers USA rankings.

As a Senior Python Developer, you will own the API and async pipeline for the platform, making design decisions that support growth.

• Python (API + AI pipeline)
• AWS – ECS Fargate, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, SQS/SNS, Elasti Cache Redis, Cognito, KMS, Secrets Manager, Cloud Trail
• Terraform or Pulumi for IaC;
  Git Hub Actions for CI/CD
• Aurora PostgreSQL – schema‑per‑tenant isolation, JSONB, PITR
• Amazon Bedrock (multi‑agent orchestration), AssemblyAI (audio transcription)
• Celery (or equivalent) for job queuing; SQS/SNS for events
• REST + OpenAPI

• Design and build core API endpoints across the full workflow: matter creation, document ingestion, knowledge extraction, draft generation, review chains, and export.
• Build and maintain async pipelines in AWS Step Functions, handling retries, failures, and ensuring non‑blocking editorial flow.
• Maintain the knowledge base in Aurora PostgreSQL: write migrations, optimize queries, and keep the schema clean.
• Integrate AI agents via Amazon Bedrock, orchestrating calls, logging activity, and enforcing pre‑flight review gates.
• Manage job queue, events, and security:
  Celery/SQS/SNS, KMS, Secrets Manager, Cloud Trail, and audit logging.

• Production‑level Python backend experience.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL: schema design, JSONB, migrations, multi‑tenant patterns, query optimization.
• Experience with AWS services: ECS Fargate, Step Functions, S3, SQS/SNS.
• Job queue expertise – Celery, BullMQ, or similar.
• REST API design instincts – versioning, error handling, OpenAPI.
• Strong communication – asks questions before coding and pushes back when things don’t make sense.

• AI agent integration with Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, or Anthropic APIs.
• IaC with Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience in regulated environments – legal, finance, or healthcare.
