The Artificial Intelligence team at Collins Aerospace, part of the Digital Technology function, leverages machine learning and AI to drive digital transformation. Collaborating with senior leaders, our team uncovers hidden insights, provides a competitive edge, and solves business problems through deep learning innovations.

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Algorithms Engineer to develop and support AI applications and foundational algorithms. This position can be remote or based at any Collins domestic location.

• AI Software Development: Design and implement large-scale AI software with robust, readable, and scalable code.
• AI Applications and Models: Support the development of AI applications, focusing on foundational models and algorithms.
• Model Lifecycle: Design, evaluate, deploy, and maintain AI/ML models and solutions, providing production support for current and future models.
• Problem Solving: Tackle medium to complex problems, thriving even in uncertain situations.
• Rapid Delivery: Work efficiently in an environment focused on quick, thorough product delivery.
• Code Reviews and Documentation: Participate in code reviews and create documentation to ensure projects meet requirements.
• AI Literacy: Support initiatives to improve company-wide AI literacy.

• Education and Experience: University Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree, or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  Expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and programming in Python.

• Model Development: Experience in developing and training models for Computer Vision, Conversational AI, NLP, Decision Support, and more.
• AI Research and Innovation: Knowledge of AI research, theory, and innovation.
• Development Tools: Proficiency with AWS, Python, Linux, Ubuntu, Pandas, Num Py, Bash, Conda, pip, VS Code, Spyder, Git + Git Hub, Databases, Tensor Flow, GPU’s, and REST APIs.
• Microservice Architecture: Understanding of software as part of a larger microservice architecture.
• Software Development Lifecycle: Knowledge of coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes (CI/CD), testing, and delivery.
• LLMs and Generative AI: Experience with state-of-the-art LLMs and Generative AI methodologies.
• Development Process: Familiarity with software/systems engineering, MLOps, technical design, data administration, code optimization, devops, and data analysis.

• Remote Work: Primarily work from home, with potential site visits as needed.
• Background Check: Required for all U.S. positions, including a drug screen.
• Salary Range: $64,000 – $128,000 (based on experience and qualifications).
