This role may be hybrid or remote based on location.
- If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, you will work in the office at least 60% of the work week and from home the rest of the time.
- If you live more than 50 miles from those offices, you may work from home full time. Remote employees may be requested to travel to the office on occasion.

- Extensive experience in software development and modern programming languages.
- Extensive experience in Mulesoft software development and modern programming languages.
- Proven experience with Scrum and advanced Dev Ops methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior developers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field.
- Four or more years of programming experience.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field.
- Mulesoft development experience and completion of Developer II certifications.
- API experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, test, development and optimization of customer-facing applications.
- Collaborate in advanced stages of Scrum to ensure smooth software delivery.
- Enforce and improve code quality standards, particularly concerning resilience, data, and security.
- Evaluate and incorporate modern programming languages and tools.
- Implement test-driven development best practices.
- Adhere to coding standards for resilience, data, and security.
- Review system requirements and business processes; code, test, debug and implement software solutions.
- Participate in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze development requirements and recommend solutions for moderate to complex systems.
- Test and implement application modules from multiple systems to ensure application meets client and business needs.
- Provide design recommendations and develop and integrate programs per written specifications; occasionally write moderate to complex design specifications.
- Make moderate to complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with written specifications and division standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
The salary range for this job is $105,000 - $145,000. Compensation considers education, experience, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range does not include potential incentive pay or benefits, which will be discussed separately.
