This is a part-time student position based remotely in Germany, offering flexible working hours and competitive compensation based on hours worked.

The student worker will contribute to improving the privacy of Firefox and the web, working alongside senior engineers on both independent smaller-scale projects and more complex collaborative initiatives. Example responsibilities include automating, triaging, diagnosing, and fixing web compatibility issues caused by Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection, owning and delivering smaller-scale privacy-improving projects such as Copy Clean Link, working to improve Protections UI, Site Identity, Site Permissions, and Certificate Errors surfaces across Firefox, consolidating and improving telemetry dashboards, and mitigating tracking, security, or privacy issues.

Requirements:
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree program in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field focusing on security, privacy, or software development
* Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
* Basic knowledge of core web technologies and how browsers work at a high level
* Understanding of and passion for privacy and security on the web
* Experience programming in C/C++ or Java Script
* Must be based in Germany Nice to have: active contributions to Mozilla’s codebase via Codetribute, experience with open-source initiatives, proficiency with SQL.
