Engineering Manager – Platform Service

About the Team

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact engineering team working on mission-critical platform services. This role is central to shaping the future of our delivery platform, powering last-mile logistics across a wide range of verticals.

You will guide teams in building reliable, scalable systems and customer-facing platforms, while also driving platform reliability, scalability, and engineering velocity to support growth at global scale. Beyond optimizing established systems, you will also champion 0→1 initiatives—identifying, launching, and growing new products and capabilities that unlock untapped opportunities and set the foundation for our next wave of innovation.

• Lead and grow a team of exceptional engineers delivering high-quality, scalable platforms and services.
• Drive the evolution of core infrastructure, advancing reliability, APIs, and engineering velocity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Business, and Operations partners to define the roadmap and deliver against ambitious goals.
• Provide technical leadership through architectural guidance, code reviews, and professional development for a team of 8+.
• Foster a strong culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Grow the team by partnering with Recruiting to hire diverse, inclusive, and top-tier talent.

• Hands‑on leadership and strong product intuition
• 2+ years of experience in people management leading full‑stack teams (backend, web) of 8+ engineers
• 8+ years of industry experience
• Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast‑paced, product‑focused development environment
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
• Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job‑related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market‑dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$193,800—$285,000 USD
