DivisionHardware Assisted Verification (HAV) – develops and manufactures emulators for functional verification of System‑on‑Chip circuit designs.
Position OverviewThe Software Development Engineer will work primarily in C++ on Linux to develop and improve the compiler that analyzes customer designs and maps them onto emulator resources. Responsibilities include analysis of clock and data networks, partitioning, placement, and synthesis of logic to support the mapping of designs onto emulators. The role also involves designing new functionality for this part of the compiler, supporting current functionality, writing system‑level tests using software simulation, and developing new testing methods.
The position includes interaction with other software teams and Veloce hardware teams in an international, multi‑site environment.
- Develop and enhance the compiler's design analysis and mapping components.
- Analyze clock and data networks, partition designs, and perform placement and synthesis.
- Design and implement new compiler functionality and support existing features.
- Write and maintain system‑level tests and develop new testing strategies.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams across multiple sites.
- BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 0 to 3 years of industry software development experience building large C++ applications as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience with algorithm and data structure design.
- Understanding of gate‑level digital logic design.
- Strong teamwork and independent work abilities.
- Experience in EDA software development, especially timing analysis, synthesis, design partition or placement.
- Software engineering skills with experience using Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Experience with software testing methods.
- Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL).
- Experience with software simulation tools (e.g., Model Sim).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting) is a plus.
This position is subject to U.S. export control requirements under ITAR and/or EAR. Employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

CompensationSalary range: $90,000 - $162,000 with 3% - 5% bonuses.
