Game Hosting Engineer

Ultahost is expanding its gaming division and is looking for a talented Game Hosting Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and optimizing game server environments using control panels like WISP and TCAdmin
.

• Install, configure, and manage game server panels such as WISP and TCAdmin
• Deploy and maintain dedicated and VPS-based game servers for various titles
• Monitor game server health, uptime, and performance
• Troubleshoot server and network issues related to multiplayer hosting
• Handle game-specific configurations, mods, and plugin support
• Collaborate with support teams to resolve player and customer issues
• Optimize resource usage and ensure high-performance hosting environments
• Contribute to automation of game server provisioning and updates
• Set up, configure, and maintain game servers to support multiplayer gameplay.
• Monitor server performance and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
• Configure network settings to ensure low-latency and stable connections for players.
• Implement load-balancing strategies to distribute traffic effectively.
• Protect servers from cyber threats such as DDoS attacks.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy standards.
• Manage anti-cheat systems to maintain a fair gaming environment.
• Perform load testing to identify bottlenecks in server performance.
• Optimize server configurations to handle high player counts efficiently.
• Debug and resolve server crashes or connectivity issues in real-time.
• Design and manage player data storage systems with high efficiency and security.
• Maintain regular database backups and recovery plans.
• Coordinate with customer support teams to address server-related player issues.
• Provide technical documentation and training to internal teams as needed.
• Set up monitoring tools to track server health and resource usage.
• Generate regular performance and incident reports for stakeholders.
• Research and implement new technologies to improve server performance and scalability.
• Identify opportunities to streamline server operations and reduce costs.

• 2+ years experience managing game servers and control panels (WISP, TCAdmin, etc.)
• Strong understanding of Linux and Windows server environments
• Familiarity with popular multiplayer games (e.g. Minecraft, Rust, CS:GO, FiveM, etc.)
• Knowledge of containerization, firewalls, port forwarding, and DDoS protection
• Scripting experience (Bash, Power Shell, etc.) is a plus
• Self-motivated, problem-solver, and passionate about online gaming
• Advanced knowledge of Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server.
• Experience in game server panels such as TCAdmin, WISP , vCenter, etc.
• Server setup and management for popular games such as Minecraft, CS:
  
  GO, Rust, ARK.
• Server Configuration:
  Optimizing configurations to meet game engine requirements.
• Containerization:
  Using tools like Docker and Kubernetes to containerize game servers.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and other relational or No

• Data Storage and Optimization:
  Ensuring secure and efficient storage of player data.
• Backup and Recovery:
  Implementing effective database backup strategies.
• Latency and Ping Management:
  Minimizing delay for smooth gameplay.
• Load Testing:
  Testing server performance under heavy traffic conditions.
• Optimized Coding:
  Creating configurations to reduce resource consumption.
• Log Analysis:
  Analyzing logs to identify and resolve errors.
• Monitoring and Alert Systems:
  Using tools like Prometheus and Grafana for real-time server monitoring.
• Error Management:
  Quickly addressing server crashes or bugs.
