Description
Ares Enterprise is seeking a highly experienced Senior Service Now Developer to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Digital Business Office (DBO) contract. This senior-level position is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining complex Service Now solutions that support mission-critical business operations.
The Senior Service Now Developer serves as a technical leader for the development team, providing architectural guidance, mentoring junior developers, and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable Service Now applications. This individual will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, business analysts, architects, and technical teams to implement innovative solutions supporting ARL's digital modernization initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, develop, configure, and maintain complex Service Now applications and enterprise solutions.
- Lead technical implementation efforts for Project MOSS within the ARL DBO environment.
- Design scalable Service Now architectures that align with government requirements and platform best practices.
- Lead development of custom Service Now applications utilizing App Engine Studio and low-code capabilities.
- Design and implement integrations between Service Now and enterprise applications.
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation strategies.
- Perform code reviews and establish development standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level Service Now developers.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical planning sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
- Develop technical documentation, design documents, deployment plans, and operational procedures.
- Support platform upgrades, release management, testing, and production deployments.
- Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity requirements, government policies, and Service Now development standards.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and application teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, operational efficiency, and platform performance.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise Service Now solutions.
- Experience developing REST and SOAP integrations.
- Experience supporting Service Now platform upgrades and application lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL principles and Service Now best practices.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor development teams.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Eight (8)+ years of progressively responsible software development experience.
- 3-5 years of Service Now platform development experience.
- Additional years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for education where contractually permissible.
- Experience with financial management, budget, and capital planning projects
- Experience supporting Army, Department of Defense, or other Federal agencies.
- Experience with Service Now App Engine, Integration Hub, CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SPM, or Sec Ops.
- Experience with cloud technologies including Azure or AWS.
- Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO), RMF, or cybersecurity initiatives.
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for Service Now.
- Experience leading technical modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- Experience with AI-enabled Service Now capabilities, Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, or Generative AI.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist (one or more)
- Service Now Certified Technical Architect (CTA) (preferred)
- Service Now Certified Master Architect (highly desirable)
- Service Now Micro-Certifications in App Engine, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Performance Analytics, or AI capabilities
Remote within the United States. Candidate must be available during core government business hours and capable of supporting classified or government-directed activities as required.
