Software Engineer 2

DPP is seeking a Software Engineer 2 for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry.

Work location:

Hybrid;
Must be within commutable distance from College Park, MD Duration: 12 months Term: W2 position Clearance: US Citizen;
Must hold an Active Secret US Security Clearance

Position Summary:

• We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Developer to support our defense focused engineering team.
• This role emphasizes modern software design, API development, Dev Sec Ops  practices, and real-time/combat system projects.
• Must be comfortable working in hybrid-remote environment.

Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance front-end user interfaces using React (including hooks, functional components, state management libraries)
• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services
• Implement responsive UI components and follow UI/UX best practices, integrating with design systems.
• Apply modern design patterns and UI frameworks such as React.
• Develop, test, and deploy code in a Linux/WSL environment.
• Experience with containerized deployments with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Write automated UI tests.
• Collaborate in Agile environment, participate in code reviews

Basic qualifications for the Software Engineer:

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development.

  Languages:
  
  Proficiency in C++, Java
• Front-End UI Development:
  Hands-on experience building UI components with React
• API Development:
  Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs
• Dev Sec Ops :
  Working knowledge of Agile, CI/CD (Git Lab CI, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops), Docker, Kubernetes)
• Testing:
  Experience with automated testing tools.
• IDE/Tooling:
  Comfortable using VSCode, Eclipse, or Net Beans.
• Linux/WSL Development:
  Proficient in developing, building, and debugging applications within Linux/WSL
• Cloud:
  Practical experience with AWS services.
• Security Clearance:
  Active Secret clearance

  Hybrid remote work based in College Park, MD.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Cosmos or similar mission-planning/analysis tools.
• Experience with real-time or combat systems and associated performance constraints.
• Cyber-security
