Software Engineer II – Remote
Location:
Remote across the United States (except Hawaii and Alaska)
CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is a leading personal lines insurance group committed to innovation and community. As a Software Engineer II in our Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team, you will help build the data infrastructure that powers decision‑making and operations across the organization.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain micro‑services using Spring Boot, Java (or J2EE), Python, or Node.js following domain‑driven design and RESTful API principles.
- Build and operate services in a distributed cloud environment on Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes, ensuring high scalability, reliability, and security.
- Apply data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns to optimize performance for high‑transaction workloads.
- Implement continuous delivery with modern build tools, continuous integration, automated unit, static analysis, and integration tests.
- Work in Scrum, conduct code reviews, pair programming, and promote a culture of testing and release automation.
- Collaborate with leads, architects, and cross‑functional teams to define technical vision and deliver innovative solutions for commerce experiences.
- Utilize AWS native services (e.g., Lambda), No
SQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB), and monitoring tools (New Relic, Splunk).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 1–3 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a focus on microservices and cloud development.
- Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot/Java, Python, or Node.js and REST or GraphQL web services.
- Experience with AWS services, Kubernetes/Open Shift, and No
SQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB. - Knowledge of build tools (Jenkins, Maven), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, and design patterns.
- Active participation in company culture, employee resource groups, or community volunteering.
- Willingness to foster collaboration, including on‑camera interactions when needed for onboarding.
- Availability to travel for team meetings and in‑person events.

Compensation & BenefitsThe starting pay range is $41.07–$54.76 hourly across all eligible states, with annual discretionary bonuses up to 7% through our Annual Incentive Plan.
