API/Microservices/AWS Software Engineer – Remote
Location:
Remote (United States, except Hawaii and Alaska)
- Design and build scalable, cloud‑based microservices on AWS using Java and modern Dev Ops practices.
- Partner with architects and teams to deliver reliable, high‑performing APIs and services in a fast‑paced Agile environment.
- Participate in continuous delivery on a cloud platform, establishing technical vision and delivering innovative services.
- Work within microservices architecture, domain‑driven design, and RESTful APIs using Java.
- Develop in a distributed/cloud environment including AWS and Kubernetes with high transaction volumes.
- Apply data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns to create scalable solutions.
- Define solutions, estimate effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Implement modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
- Practice full Dev Ops to ensure continuous testing and release on AWS.
- Leverage AWS No
SQL services for secure, reliable, available, maintainable, and performant data storage. - Deliver software in a Scrum development process.
- Perform technical code reviews and pair programming.
- Collaborate with other teams to maintain a loosely coupled and scalable service ecosystem.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering.
- 1–3 years of progressive software engineering experience.
- Experience designing and developing microservices with Spring Boot, Java/J2EE, Python, or NodeJS REST/GraphQL services.
- Experience with AWS native services (e.g., Lambda), SQL and No
SQL databases, monitoring tools (New Relic, Splunk), and messaging services (Apache Camel, ESB). - Experience with Kubernetes, Open Shift, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.
- Experience with AWS build tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
- Familiarity with UML and design patterns.
- Actively shapes company culture by participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, and similar activities.

- Willing to travel as needed for the role, including divisional and team meetings.
- Flexible in fulfilling business needs, including investing extra time and helping other teams.
