Salary: $20–$30 per hour

Working Hours: 8 per week

Our focus spans a broad portfolio of e‑commerce products—tickets, annual passes, special events, park reservations, and integrated checkout experiences for Disney World, Disneyland California, and Disneyland Paris. We invest deeply in building the future of these commerce capabilities for a range of Disney business units.

• Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, both technical and non‑technical.
• Plan and execute high‑quality code with a focus on performance, scalability, and robustness.
• Lead engineering efforts, providing direction, code reviews, and mentorship.
• Participate in configuration audits to evaluate and recommend secure or efficient solutions.
• Own the full software development lifecycle—from design to deployment.
• Write and test production‑ready code.
• Provide constructive feedback on code quality, testability, and best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation and develop new documentation as needed.
• Investigate and resolve emergency incidents, breaking down root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Identify improvement opportunities across our application stack and propose universally applicable solutions.
• Translate execution plans into actionable guidance for teams.
• Establish and promote coding standards, design patterns, and best practices aligned with business goals.

• Minimum 2 years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of architectural or leadership experience, or a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Thrives in a fast‑moving, agile development and delivery environment.
• Experience in large‑scale business projects and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Hands‑on knowledge of:
  • Data models (e.g., relational, key‑value, graph) and query languages.
  • HTTP/HTTPS web protocols.
  • Social data stores (OAuth, SAML, tokens).
  • Basic cryptography (symmetric/asymmetric encryption, HMAC).
  • Security tools (OAuth, HMAC).
  • Application architecture principles such as safety and design separation.
  • API specification writing.
  • Performance troubleshooting.
  • Fundamental software engineering principles.
  • Pattern usage (Singleton, Pipeline, Observer, Factory, Decorator, etc.).
  • Entity‑relationship and data modelling (entities, records, sets, maps, queues).
  • Algorithmic problem solving and complexity analysis.

• 3+ years of full‑stack development, including backend, UI, mobile (iOS or Android) or web UI.
• Experience supporting complex business initiatives and designing integrated solutions.
• Passion for innovative technology.

• Java, JVM internals (GC, memory, classloading).
• Concurrency and multithreading.
• Java web containers (e.g., Tomcat).
• Spring Boot microservices development.
• REST API design, documentation, and security.
• Docker and container orchestration.
• SQL databases (e.g., MariaDB, MySQL, DynamoDB).
• ORM frameworks (JPA, Hibernate).
• AWS services: EC2, ECS, Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB.
• Unit testing best practices.
• Version control (Git Lab, Git Hub).
• Scalable, high‑throughput backend architecture.
