As a member of the Innovation and Change team, you will design, build, and deliver automation tooling to manage the foundation at American Airlines’ server farms and cloud providers, focusing on Framework as Code practices.

• Collaborate with leaders, business experts, product owners, IT designers, specialty leads, and internal stakeholders to define and grow requirements.
• Maintain and improve existing tooling.
• Coach and mentor colleagues.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, isolate causes, and deliver solutions.
• Explore and implement new advances to improve current processes, security, and performance.
• Uphold coding standards and adhere to security best‑practice policies.
• Work closely with product models and specialized prompts to ensure solutions meet long‑term project development needs.

• Four‑year college degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Innovation, Data Engineering (CIS/MIS), Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of full SDLC experience building and deploying large‑scale applications in a managed environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in design, architecture, and open‑source initiatives.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Spark/Databricks data pipelines, and query tuning.
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs (JSON, WSDL, XML).
• Strong familiarity with Python, FastAPI, Typescript, React, and React‑Native.
• Ability to work on Git, Git Hub Actions, Covert‑type CI/CD pipelines, Sonar Qube, Slack, and security tools.
• Experience configuring and scripting with Power Shell, Bash/Shell, and Ansible.
• Solid experience with server‑side languages including Java, Python, Ruby.
• Both front‑end and back‑end development skills with an object‑oriented mindset.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and related automation tooling.
• 1–2 years of work on Linux environments and shell scripting.
• 1–2 years of work on Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS.

• Graduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Innovation, Data Engineering (CIS/MIS), Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Further experience in large‑scale application development, broad‑based and delivery design, and demonstrates the ability to design and foster automated organization solutions.
• Experience integrating CI/CD tools and platforms.
• Familiarity with deployment tools such as MAnifact (Manikin), Ansible, Ivanti, and managing VMs with VMware.
• Strong documentation writing skills and architectural outlines.
• Understanding of end‑to‑end application development lifecycle from code commit to production delivery.
• Operational and security mindset – knowledge of change workflows and controls.
• Team‑based collaboration ability with cross‑functional groups.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
