Sr Java SDET - Remote

Job Description

Java SDET Testing – 1 Year Contract – San Antonio, TX (100% Remote)

• Work closely with software engineers to build quality by ensuring proper test and conditional coverage, configuration quality, logging and monitoring.
• Develop and implement QA standards, processes, tools and methodologies.
• Partner with other functions to establish testing requirements for microservices with principles of 12‑factor applications adherence.
• Document functional/integration test strategies and test plans; translate complex system requirements and specs into test requirements and testing methods.
• Participate in feature/story elaboration, identify and implement complex automation efforts.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Java, JUnit or JBehave.
• Test across various platforms: microservices, event‑driven applications, and databases.
• Create acceptance and integration test automation scripts, integrate with CI (Jenkins), code coverage tools to ensure higher code/conditional coverage.
• Work in Agile methodology, collaborate with developers to design systems for reliability, performance, and testability.
• Test protocols such as SFTP, sockets, HTTP, RPC.
• Execute test automation on Selenium Web Driver, Load UI, Load Runner, JMeter, Karate, etc.
• Perform security testing using various tools (App Scan, Polaris, Twistlock, Attest, Jaws, etc.).
• Perform chaos testing and apply software engineering principles.

• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• Hands‑on experience in unit, functional, and integration testing.
• Experience building and using automation frameworks with Java, JUnit or JBehave.
• Experience testing microservices, event‑driven applications, and databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and code coverage tools.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Experience testing protocols: SFTP, sockets, HTTP, RPC, etc.
• Strong knowledge of security testing tools.
• Experience with Java scripting and Groovy.
• Experience with chaos testing.
• Familiarity with Software Engineering Principles.
