Senior Software Engineer; Client - Treetown Tech

Treetown Tech seeks Senior Embedded Software Engineers to join their multi‑disciplinary engineering team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This hybrid remote position offers schedule flexibility and the opportunity to work from home several days per week, depending on project needs. • Develop embedded software for innovative R&D projects in both the consumer and military space.
• Work closely with the software department and project teams to solve problems, design software architecture, and transfer knowledge.
• Test and debug new and existing platforms.
• Maintain software documentation and version control.
• Design and develop Windows and Linux based software test verification tools.

• 5 or more years’ experience developing embedded software.
• Proficiency with C or C++ programming;
  Python a bonus.
• Good understanding of low‑level microcontroller programming.
• Passion for developing quality software and software development methodologies.
• Experience programming and debugging microcontrollers on PCBs.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering desired, but experience matters most.
• Experience with Unit Test and CI/CD tool chains for embedded development preferred.
• Ability to work directly with end‑users and customers.
• Collaborative nature that enjoys an R&D and prototyping environment and can work both as part of a team of experts and as an active individual contributor.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow for developing, simulating, and validating control algorithms (bonus).
• Embedded Linux experience with YOCTO or Buildroot (bonus).
• Experience with web frameworks (Django, Flask, React, Vue.js, etc.) (bonus).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and/or ORMs (ODB, Django, SQL Alchemy) (bonus).
