Developer 4, Systems Software at Merastar Insurance Company in Richardson, TX. 40 hrs./wk.

• Provide technical support for applications and system software technologies.
• Develop, document and execute unit test cases.
• Resolve complex technical issues with applications and processes.
• Recommend test plans for impacted areas and end‑to‑end test coverage.
• Recommend process improvements.
• Ensure quality reviews of application software designs.
• Lead projects across technical disciplines.
• Develop technical knowledge and skills of IS project teams.
• Support proof‑of‑concept activities for new technologies.
• Guide teams on solutions for resolving frequently occurring production problems.
• Lead team in phase gates for projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience providing technical leadership on large or complex application installation, development and support projects.
• Proficiency in program design methods, techniques, and standard development tools.
• Hands‑on experience with frameworks, languages and tools such as Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Angular, REST, Tomcat, AWS, PostgreSQL, GIT, JIRA, Eclipse and Jenkins.
• Experience identifying improvement areas in architecture, integration and design.
• Experience teaching and providing instruction to co‑workers, and giving feedback on progress toward goals.
• Experience with cloud development practices and various project methodologies (agile and waterfall).
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and understand technical controls, security concepts and SOX requirements.
• 3 years experience providing managerial direction.

Up to 5% short‑term domestic travel to attend industry conferences.
