Overview
Web Developer position for the Wisconsin Environmental Mesonet (Wisconet) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The project maintains a network of weather and soil monitoring stations and provides weather and climate data and risk-reduction tools for agriculture and outdoor activities. The developer will work with Wisconet staff and UW scientists to gather requirements, develop implementation plans, and enhance the Wisconet website. Responsibilities include ensuring WCAG AA accessibility and exploring mobile app development to reach new end users.
The role emphasizes teamwork, learning, and growth, with outreach to producers and stakeholders as needed. This is a full-time, terminal (fixed term) appointment with an end date of December 31, 2027, and potential for extension or conversion based on need and funding. The position is primarily onsite with up to two remote workdays per week, subject to an approved remote work agreement (RWA).
