Senior Firmware EngineerAllegion is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Firmware Engineer to join a highly engaged team within a global organization of 14,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN) focused on safety, security, and access management. You’ll play a crucial role creating solutions that enable seamless access - keeping people safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive.
This is a hybrid role based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role places significant emphasis on test strategy, automation, and quality ownership to ensure reliable, high‑confidence firmware releases.

What you will do- Design, develop, and debug firmware for platform assets used in multiple access control scenarios.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for firmware testing covering static analysis, unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Measure and increase test coverage over time, making sure to emulate edge cases and failure scenarios.
- With assistance from other teams, design and maintain automated hardware‑in‑the‑loop test hardware to support regression testing. This will include everything from verifying wireless network functionality to testing sensor behavior.
- Identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware issues.
- Monitor and analyze test results, creating detailed test reports and quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement in firmware quality.
- Improve quality, robustness, and rigor of firmware platform code.
- Perform design & code analysis utilizing appropriate tools.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with ARM Cortex-M series.
- Experience working with Real Time Operating Systems.
- Proficiency in Python and C with strong analytical skills to debug, troubleshoot, and isolate complex issues across firmware and hardware.
- Ability to read schematics and work with and automate electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and voltmeters.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and testing frameworks, with the ability to tailor processes for high‑quality firmware releases.
