About the Role
FWD.us is a policy organization focused on criminal justice and immigration reform. We seek a highly‑motivated intern to work on technology products that serve our users across web and mobile. The Web Intern will report to the Director of Product Management & Insights and be part of the External Affairs and Impact Department.
Working Hours & CompensationFull‑time, 40 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm PST, weekdays. The internship lasts at least four months, beginning in late August or early September 2026. Pay is $21/hour plus benefits. Work is in‑person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at the Oakland, CA office, with remote work on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Responsibilities- Assist with building and updating web pages on Word Press, and digital tools such as forms and data visualizations.
- Support content development for website components.
- Help maintain the website by checking for issues, writing tickets to report and solve problems, and implementing content curation updates.
- Collect website performance data and Google search trends to support regular web analytics reports and SEO efforts for our web products.
- One year or less of experience in technology, website, or digital roles within a non‑profit or advocacy organization.
- Some interest or experience in website development, including front‑end and back‑end development.
- In‑progress or finished college degree and/or certification(s) in web development, informatics, or related field.
- Experience using Word Press or other website builder tools.
- Content management
- Web data reporting and analytics
- UX/UI design
- Website writing
