Software Developer Senior (COBOL) – transform technology into opportunity by supporting the eMedNY Systems Development and Application Development team for the New York State Department of Health Medicaid Management Information System. This role involves coding functional programs and applications, writing clean and flawless code, and contributing to mission‑critical government projects.

• Perform analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, maintenance and support of complex applications and processes.
• Meet eMedNY Program standards on specification development, coding, code review, unit and string testing, and documentation.
• Create documentation artifacts for each SDLC stage for review and approval.
• Assist in preparing effort and duration estimates for systemic enhancements.
• Participate in production and other support activities and resolve arising issues.
• Keep abreast of technical and development trends and industry standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline.
• Must have at least 5 years of IT experience.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience with COBOL, CICS and DB2 on mainframe platforms.

• COBOL, CICS and DB2.

Salary range: $97,968 – $120,750 (based on experience, location and contractual requirements). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, disability coverage, life insurance and other typical corporate benefits in the United States.

Hybrid – office in Corporate Woods, Albany, NY. Remote work available as part of the hybrid arrangement.
