Remote Full Stack Engineer; Next.JS​/React​/Java

Job Description

The team supports two web engineering pods focused on Search and Commerce which power the booking funnel on the hotel company's .com website. Many planned enhancements across .com and other digital channels were delayed due to the Central Reservation System (CRS) replacement initiative. With the CRS rollout now live for approximately half of the hotels, the team is preparing to accelerate delivery of these features and is under pressure to ensure sufficient engineering capacity when dependencies are removed.

They are hiring two Full Stack Engineers—one supporting Search and one supporting Commerce. The role is roughly 50% frontend (Next.js) and 50% backend (Java/Spring Boot). Guest-facing experiences are built in Next.js, while backend services leverage standard Java development and API integrations, including Swagger documentation.

Engineers will report to a Software Engineering Lead and work within a cross‑functional team consisting of:

• 3–6 Engineers
• 2 QA Analysts
• 1 SDET
• 2 Product Managers

• Multi-room booking (up to 10 rooms in a single reservation)
• Flexible date calendar displaying cash rates
• Enhanced room and rate filtering by attributes
• Minimum length‑of‑stay functionality
• Limited inventory messaging for guests
• Travel package booking (airfare, hotel, rental car)

• 5-8 years of experience in Full Stack Development in React/Next.js and Java/Spring Boot on the back end
• Integration with Swagger docs
• Familiarity with design systems, how to integrate back to a design system
• MongoDB usage from a database perspective
• Great communication skills, speak up if they have a blocker
• Experience developing on a booking flow in search or booking for a checkout cart or commerce engine
• Global experience, developing a global application to understand nuances of localization
• API Development, expanding upon existing APIs
• AWS environment
• Local to Brazil so they can overlap with Europe
