The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Engineer to serve as the technical leader with a strong focus on execution excellence for our Secure Remote Access (SRA) product stream. This is a unique role that requires a rare blend of deep, low-level technical expertise and a genuine passion for human leadership.
You will own the technical vision for our next-generation, proxy-based remote access solution, which intercepts, secures, and optimizes protocols like RDP, VNC, http/https and SSH
. Crucially, you will be the technical “North Star” for a highly motivated, fast-growing team composed largely of highly motivated junior engineers. Your job is to architect both a world-class product and a world-class engineering team.
- Architect the Proxy Ecosystem: Lead the design and evolution of our high-performance, secure proxy architecture capable of handling multi-protocol session brokering (RDP, VNC, SSH) at scale.
- Be a Force Multiplier: Act as a dedicated mentor and coach to a talented team of junior engineers. You will break down highly complex, ambiguous architectural concepts into digestible, well-scoped milestones that empower the team to execute confidently.
- Set the Technical Standard: Establish and champion engineering best practices, robust testing methodologies, secure coding standards, and rigorous code review processes.
- Drive Protocol Innovation: Deep-dive into protocol translation, session recording, keystroke logging, and terminal emulation, ensuring frictionless user experiences without sacrificing Zero Trust principles.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with Product Management, Security Research, and leadership to define the SRA roadmap and translate business requirements into bulletproof technical designs.
- Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record operating at a Principal or Lead level.
- Protocol & Proxy Expertise: Deep, hands‑on experience building or heavily modifying proxy servers, bastion hosts, or protocol gateways. You should know the ins and outs of SSH, RDP, HTTP and VNC protocols. Experience with identity management protocols like SAML, OAuth etc
- Mentorship Mindset: A proven history of successfully mentoring junior engineers and elevating a team’s overall technical capabilities. You measure your success not just by the code you write, but by the code your team delivers.
- Systems Programming: Exceptional proficiency in languages optimized for network-heavy, high-performance systems (e.g.,
Golang, C/C++, or Rust ). - Network & Security Deep Dive: Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, socket programming, TLS termination, cryptographic auditing, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Deep, production-level experience with Kubernetes and Docker . You know how to architect, deploy, and scale highly available, distributed applications across complex multi‑tenant cloud or edge environments.
- Experience with open-source remote desktop gateways (e.g., Apache Guacamole internals, FreeRDP).
- Experience with HTML5-based rendering of remote desktop protocols (Web Sockets, canvas…
(If this job is in fact in your jurisdiction, then you may be using a Proxy or VPN to access this site, and to progress further, you should change your connectivity to another mobile device or PC).
