As a Software Engineer for Kubernetes Core, you will contribute directly to the upstream Kubernetes codebase. You will work on the fundamental components that power the orchestration engine, collaborating with the open-source community to design and implement next-generation container features.
What You'll Do- Design and develop core Kubernetes components such as the API server, scheduler, and controller manager in Go.
- Contribute to Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to drive architectural improvements and feature development.
- Implement and optimize low-level interfaces including the Container Runtime Interface (CRI) and Container Network Interface (CNI).
- Review community pull requests and participate in upstream technical discussions and design proposals.
- Debug and resolve complex, distributed systems issues within the core Kubernetes orchestration layer.
- Ensure the stability and performance of the Kubernetes ecosystem through rigorous testing and community collaboration.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on systems programming
- Advanced proficiency in Go (Golang) and experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Proven track record of contributing to the Kubernetes codebase or other CNCF projects
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, including API server, scheduler, and controllers
- Expertise in low-level container technologies such as CRI, CNI, and OCI runtimes
- Advanced proficiency in English.
