This is a high-scope technical role responsible for shaping the strategy and architecture behind our web and backend systems. You'll spend most of your time designing, building, and shipping directly, while also driving the technical direction across teams and initiatives. The core of this role is leading through influence and strong technical judgment, with scope evolving based on the needs of the team.
You'll partner closely with engineering, product, and leadership to make sure we're building the right things, the right way, and moving fast enough to stay ahead.
- Set technical direction and architecture across our full stack (Python, Go).
- Identify where our systems need to evolve to support scale, and drive those changes end to end.
- Build APIs and services that support data-heavy, high-scale workloads.
- Build low latency highly performant ETL pipelines.
- Design and implement scalable features directly — this role stays close to the code.
- Lead by example through code reviews, technical documentation, and direct contribution.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues before they become problems.
- Partner with engineering leadership to shape roadmap, priorities, and technical strategy.
- Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
- Work closely with Product and Growth teams to launch new features rapidly.
- 8+ years of Python/Go experience.
- Someone who moves fast and isn't scared to experiment with new technologies, frameworks, and rapidly test ideas.
- Strong system design judgment and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment where priority is evaluated every 2 weeks.
- Experience with event driven systems.
- Experience with Typescript.
- Experience with Redis/Valkey.
