We are seeking a Data Engineer – Mid for this remote job USA / work from home position to support the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks for FEMA’s data analytics platforms.

This is a 100% remote, WFH job open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with compensation ranging from $115,000–$135,000/year based on experience and qualifications.

• Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning
• Ensure FISMA/FedRAMP-compliant security and data governance
• Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives
• Oversee automation, code reviews, and Dev Sec Ops  integration

• At least 3+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role
• Deep experience with distributed computing (Spark, EMR, Databricks)
• Advanced SQL, Python, and cloud data tooling
• Familiarity with DHS data governance and security standards
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Active Public Trust preferred — FEMA Public Trust highly preferred
