Build complex AI-native product experiences end to end. Peer AI combines sophisticated document workflows, heterogeneous clinical data, collaborative editing, long-running distributed operations, and AI agents that perform work traditionally done by highly specialized domain experts. We want generalists who can take a problem from user need through architecture, implementation, testing, instrumentation, and production operation - and use AI to expand the ambition and quality of what a small team can build.

Peer AI is an AI-native company, and we want our engineering organization to be AI-native too. We use AI throughout how we build, test, analyze, debug, and operate software. We look for people who ask what can be automated, what should become a system instead of a recurring task, and where human judgment creates the most value. These roles are intentionally broader than their traditional equivalents because we want the people who join us to help redefine the function itself.

• Own meaningful product capabilities end to end across our React/Type Script frontend and Python/FastAPI backend.

• Work directly with Product, Design, and domain experts to turn ambiguous regulatory-workflow problems into simple, usable product experiences.

• Build APIs, data flows, and distributed workflows that support long-running AI and document-processing operations.

• Integrate LLMs and AI agents into reliable production workflows, with appropriate evaluation, fallbacks, and human control.

• Design for failure, recovery, observability, and data integrity rather than only the happy path.

• Instrument and test the features you build, and use AI coding agents and automation throughout development while maintaining a high bar for user success, correctness, maintainability, and engineering judgment.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping production web applications.

• Ability to work comfortably across frontend and backend systems, including modern Type Script/React and Python or similar server-side stacks.

• Experience reasoning about distributed systems, asynchronous execution, APIs, data models, and failure states.

• Strong product instincts and interest in understanding the user rather than only implementing a specification.

• High agency and strong debugging skills, plus experience using AI coding tools as a meaningful part of your workflow without outsourcing engineering judgment to them.

• Experience building AI products, agentic workflows, evaluation systems, or document-generation products.

• Experience with AWS, FastAPI, React, PostgreSQL, asynchronous job systems, or collaborative editors.

• Experience with life sciences, regulated software, document systems, or other complex domain-heavy products.
