Senior Full Stack Developer | AI Agents & MCP | Healthcare

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team and help us build and scale our products.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving real technical problems, taking ownership, and working closely with a small, experienced engineering team.

A key part of this role will be working with AI-powered applications, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers
. We’re looking for someone with real hands-on experience building or integrating these technologies into production applications.

Experience working with healthcare platforms or EHR/EMR integrations is also highly relevant.

Experience with

One / athenahealth APIs is preferred, but experience with comparable platforms is valuable as well.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain production‑grade full‑stack applications.
• Develop new features and product improvements from concept through deployment.
• Design and integrate APIs and third‑party services.
• Build and integrate AI agents and agentic workflows
  .
• Build or integrate MCP servers and connect AI agents to external tools, APIs, databases, and services.
• Work closely with the Technical Lead and engineering team on technical solutions and implementation.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Take ownership of your work and communicate progress, blockers, and technical risks proactively.

Must‑Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with React / Next.js and Node.js
  .
• Experience building and maintaining production‑grade web applications.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, backend development, and third‑party API integrations
  .
• Hands‑on professional experience building or integrating AI agents / agentic workflows
  .
• Experience with LLM‑powered applications, tool calling, and AI integrations
  .
• Hands‑on experience building or integrating MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers
  .
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and maintainable code.
• Experience with relational and/or No
  
  SQL databases.
• Strong Git, testing, debugging, and code review practices.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.
• Availability for a full‑time, exclusive engagement with reasonable overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Ops practices.
• Experience with Python

• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or retrieval‑based AI systems
  .
• Experience designing agentic systems that interact with external tools, APIs, databases, or services.
• Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or other regulated environments.
• Experience working in an early‑stage or fast‑growing technology company.

Working Hours

• Monday–Friday
• Full‑time
• Reasonable overlap with our U.S.
  
  -based team
• U.S. Eastern Time (ET) will be the primary reference for team collaboration

This is a long‑term, full‑time independent contractor engagement for someone who enjoys autonomy, meaningful technical ownership, and working closely with a small team.

Compensation

USD $2,000–$3,000/month for LATAM‑based independent contractors, depending on experience, technical depth, and overall fit.
