Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Fitch Group is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack based out of our NYC office. Fitch Group Technology has a number of agile teams that deliver world-class innovative solutions to Fitch Group internal and external customers. This position will be within one of our agile teams delivering software products for our BMI business.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to be a part of an exceptionally talented, bright and driven team, and apply your skills in novel ways. Our technology stack is modern - cloud based, containerized, serverless and microservices oriented. You will play a key role in implementing tools and processes that aim to improve the quality of our end-to-end code while creating a more efficient and sustainable workflow for our customers.

You will work in a hybrid (in-office / Work from Home) arrangement, in a collaborative and supportive work environment where your ideas and contributions are valued with a focus on achievable improvements that get used every day.

• Design, develop and deploy cloud native container based financial applications
• Developing new GenAI backend in Python
• Design, develop GenAI application Python and AWS Bedrock service
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
• Optimize components to work seamlessly across different browsers and devices

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing distributed application architecture of moderate-to-high complexity
• 5+ years in Python, vector database, FASTAPI, Pytest, Docker
• In-depth knowledge and experience of Lang Chain, Lang Graph, Agent development, MCP
• Experience with GenAI/RAG, Agentic RAG
• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Bedrock service, embedding models, Re-ranker, Doclinq
• Experience in working with Scrum, keeping track of sprint items in JIRA and completing everything on time
• Knowledge of performance testing frameworks including Mocha and Jest
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
• Ability to lead offshore team
• Experience working with multicultural global technology teams in the financial industry
• Exceptionally self-motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with modern data architecture and engineering technologies
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
