Software Engineer
The Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Software Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software, oversees testing and debugging, and develops fixes. The role researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software‑related issues.
The engineer understands department, segment, and organizational strategies and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. The engineer makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. The engineer follows established guidelines/procedures.
- 3-5 years of experience in systems analysis or application programming development.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Master’s Degree.
- Must have the ability to provide a high‑speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
- Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25

- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
- Travel:
While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.
40 hours per week.
Pay Range$80,900–$110,300 per year. The compensation range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job‑related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
