Cindera’s product depends on fast, accurate geospatial systems. We take public and partner data such as CAL FIRE zones, parcel boundaries, assessor records, and other property inputs, then turn them into maps, scores, and APIs that people can actually use.

This is a hands-on engineering role with real product impact. You will help shape the data model, improve map and boundary performance, and make sure our outputs are trustworthy enough for homeowner workflows, insurer decisions, and vendor integrations.

You will work closely with product, data, and customer-facing teammates to keep the system accurate as sources change and new use cases come online.

• Design and maintain geospatial services that ingest, normalize, and serve parcel and wildfire risk data.
• Build APIs and backend workflows that power scoring, map rendering, and partner integrations.
• Improve data quality, validation, and update pipelines across changing public and private datasets.
• Optimize spatial queries and map performance so the product stays fast at scale.
• Collaborate with teammates to translate messy real-world data into clear product behavior.

• Strong experience building production backend systems, with deep comfort in geospatial data.
• Experience working with parcel, boundary, zoning, or property data in a real product environment.
• Ability to design reliable APIs and data workflows that can handle imperfect external sources.
• Practical judgment around data accuracy, performance, and operational simplicity.
• Clear communication and ownership in a small team setting.

• Experience with PostGIS, spatial indexing, or other geospatial database tooling.
• Familiarity with wildfire, insurance, property tech, or public-sector data sources.
• Experience working with map libraries, tile services, or location-based product surfaces.
• Exposure to data pipelines that depend on third-party or government datasets.
