Position OverviewMaricopa County is seeking a Database Developer I to design, develop, implement, and maintain database solutions. The position will focus on SQL development, relational database design, query optimization, troubleshooting, database performance, and SSIS ETL development while collaborating with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain database objects and structures.
- Analyze query performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement SQL optimization techniques.
- Design and implement database interfaces for applications and vendor systems.
- Write, test, and optimize SQL queries.
- Design and model relational databases.
- Develop test data for new and modified database applications.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Design and implement ETL pipelines using SSIS.
- Develop and maintain various SQL jobs.
- 2+ years of progressively responsible programming experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong SQL and DBMS experience such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Strong relational database design and modeling skills.
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and stakeholders.
- Strong ETL experience, specifically SSIS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Azure experience.
