Move money in real time across ACH, wire, RTP, and internal transfers — reliably, idem potently, and without batch windows.

Location Remote (United States) Reports to Principal Software Architect Team Engineering

Move money in real time across ACH, wire, RTP, and internal transfers — reliably, idem potently, and without batch windows.

Funding is how money enters and leaves A8 Core™, and it is where the platform meets the messy reality of payment rails. This role owns the integrations and processing that make funding feel instant and trustworthy: directives that settle and post in real time, webhooks that fire exactly when they should, and reconciliation that never drifts.

What you’ll own Rail integrations
  • ACH, wire, RTP, and internal transfers — the connections that actually move the money.
  • The translation between each rail’s quirks and A8 Core™’s uniform funding model.
Funding lifecycle
  • Directive acceptance, settlement, posting to the ledger, and the deposit.posted / withdrawal.posted events that follow.
Reliability
  • Idempotent processing, retries with backoff, and reconciliation so money movement is never double-counted or lost.
Observability
  • End-to-end monitoring of every dollar in flight, with the signals to catch a problem before a customer does.
Responsibilities
  • Build and operate integrations to payment rails and bank/processor partners.
  • Implement real-time funding so balances update the moment a directive posts.
  • Guarantee idempotent processing keyed to Provider Reference Id  across retries and duplicate deliveries.
  • Emit accurate, well-ordered webhooks and handle returns, reversals, and exceptions.
  • Reconcile funding activity against the ledger and external rail reporting.
  • Instrument the funding path so money movement is observable end to end.
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years in backend or platform engineering, including production payments or funding work.
  • Direct experience with at least one major rail (ACH, wire, or RTP).
  • Strong .NET / C# and event-driven systems.
  • A reliability mindset: idempotency, retries, and reconciliation are second nature.
Preferred
  • Working knowledge of NACHA / ACH rules and return handling.
  • Experience integrating bank or processor partners.
  • Azure and Kubernetes in production.
Technical environment Core Rails

ACH Wire RTP Internal transfer

Infrastructure Practices Your first year First 90 Days
  • Take ownership of a rail integration and ship improvements to its reliability or latency.
First 6 Months
  • Raise the reliability and speed of funding measurably across rails.
First 12 Months
  • Own the funding platform roadmap — new rails, better settlement, tighter reconciliation.
Why join A8 Core™

Real-time money movement is one of the hardest, most valuable problems in fintech. You will build the rails the entire platform runs on, and make instant funding the default rather than the exception.
