We are seeking an Intern Year Round
- Technical Grad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

Plan and conduct user research to improve usability and efficiency of web, desktop, and mobile applications

Apply user centered design methodology to develop usable software products

Create wireframes and prototypes to communicate design ideas

Collaborate with user interface designers and developers to create high quality software products

Serve as an advocate for end users

Co-design and wireframe front-end user experiences

The selected applicant can be a remote worker located in any U.S. State or District of Columbia. Regular or periodic travel to your assigned work location may be required.

Salary Range:

At Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

Earned bachelor's degree

Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited graduate program

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

Pursuing a MS in Human Factors, User Experience Design, Human Systems Engineering, or Information and Knowledge Management

Experience with a wide variety of usability methods, including observational studies, user interviews, surveys, heuristic evaluations, usability testing etc.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Experience working in development teams using agile methodologies

Knowledge of visual design principles, information architecture, and style guides/template creation

Understand and have practical experience with web-based software application development methodologies, trends, and technologies
