** Overview*
* GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Service Now developer to support the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). This role will be for a Service Now Developer with Certified Application Developer (CAD) credentials responsible for designing, building, and deploying a bi-directional integration between Service Now and Jira. This role focuses on creating a scalable, secure connector that synchronizes incidents, demands, change requests, and other work items across both platforms.

This role is a fully remote position within the United States with core hours of operation from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM ET.

** Responsibilities*
* + Design, build, and deploy a bi-directional integration between Service Now and Jira.

+ Develop, maintain and expand a set of custom-developed Service Now applications utilizing the Now Platform.

+ Develop front and back-end components connected to a blended technology stack and also focus on interconnecting these Service Now functions into legacy systems.

+ Rapidly deliver both lightweight back-end services and front-end public-facing web stack.

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot production application issues.

+ Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.

+ Work with Product Owners and Scrum Teams in requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and breakdown of user stories and tasks.

+ Interaction with stakeholders in support of the Product Owner.

+ Use unit and integration testing to ensure systems is defect free.

+ Interface with internal and Government management personnel.

** Qualifications*
* ** Required Skills and Experience*
* + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline, 15+ Years of work experience; 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

+ 5+ years of development experience.

+ 2+ years experience in Service Now and the Now Platform - ITSM, App Engine and/or Integration Hub.

+ Must be able to design, discuss, and document system strategies for platforms, applications, and networks.

+ Experience writing both unit and end-to-end automated tests.

+ Proficient with Jira and Git Hub.

+ Service Now CAD certification and hands-on experience building custom applications on the Now Platform.

+ Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.

+

Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, webhook frameworks, authentication models, and cross-platform data mapping.

+ Familiarity with Jira's project structure, issue data models, workflows, and service account configurations.

+ Ability to design scalable integration architectures that meet enterprise security, governance, and SDLC standards.
