Position summary
The Senior Salesforce Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performing Salesforce solutions that meet current and future business needs. This role ensures seamless integration between Salesforce and enterprise systems while defining best practices and standards for development, deployment, and automation. This person leads a team of engineers, collaborates with government partners, and applies Dev Ops methodologies to streamline workflows.

The Senior Salesforce Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performing Salesforce solutions that meet current and future business needs. This role ensures seamless integration between Salesforce and enterprise systems while defining best practices and standards for development, deployment, and automation. This person leads a team of engineers, collaborates with government partners, and applies Dev Ops methodologies to streamline workflows.

- Collaborate with government partners and other technology leaders to architect and design scalable and high-performing Salesforce solutions that meet current and future business needs
- Lead the architectural design of Salesforce implementations, ensuring best practices and technical excellence
- Define and enforce governance policies, security best practices, and scalability principles
- Ensure seamless integration between Salesforce and enterprise systems via APIs, middleware (e.g., Mulesoft), and event-driven architectures
- Provide guidance on Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce Flows
- Review technical documentation, perform code reviews, and ensure code quality
- Define best practices and standards for Salesforce development, integration, and deployment processes
- Implement automation strategies, including CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops practices, and testing frameworks for Salesforce applications
- Work in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and investigate issues when they occur
- Take part in hiring activities (e.g., submitting referrals, conducting interviews, and attending interview debriefs), as needed
Coach and mentor junior team members
- 10+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performing Salesforce solutions
- Strong understanding of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce Flows
- Proficiency in integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems via REST/SOAP APIs, Mulesoft, ETL tools, or event-driven architecture
