X is a leader in NYC last-mile parcel delivery for major national retailers using eco-friendly e-cargo bikes, e-vans, and NYC's first ever Blue Highway.

We are hiring a Logistics Optimization Engineer to serve as the primary owner of daily route planning and optimization for a high-volume last-mile delivery operation. This is a hands‑on role responsible for designing, sequencing, and continuously improving daily delivery routes for 3,000+ packages per day.

This role is ideal for someone with an engineering mindset, strong analytical skills, and real‑world logistics or route planning experience. Routes are created daily with limited lead time, variables shift constantly, and decisions must be made quickly and accurately.

• Own daily route planning and assignment for a large‑scale last‑mile delivery operation
• Analyze daily delivery manifests and divide thousands of packages into efficient delivery routes
• Optimize route sequencing so packages are delivered in the most logical and time‑efficient order
• Adjust routes in response to changing conditions, including:
• Returned or undelivered packages
• Density, timing, and delivery constraints
• Analyze route performance data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and recurring issues
• Investigate routes with consistently high return or failure rates and determine root causes
• Implement data‑driven improvements to reduce delivery time, failures, and returns
• Establish routing best practices and documentation to ensure consistency and continuity
• Collaborate with operations and delivery teams to ensure routes are practical and executable
• Provide guidance and coverage planning with a secondary routing resource

• High level experience in logistics, route optimization, operations analytics, or transportation planning
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work with large, changing data sets
• Highly detail‑oriented with systems‑level thinking
• Proficient with tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, routing or mapping software
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, operational environment with constant change

• Last‑mile delivery or courier operations
• Route optimization, dispatch, or transportation analytics
• Supply chain, operations research, industrial engineering, or logistics analytics
• Experience designing or refining operational workflows and processes
• Bachelor's Degree

• You will directly impact daily delivery performance, efficiency, and customer experience
• You will own one of the most critical operational functions in the organization
• Your decisions will shape how thousands of packages move through the delivery network every day

This is a hybrid role with remote work option up to 2 days per week. 3 days required on site in the Brooklyn Marine Terminal location. Salary Range for this role will be between $150,000 - $175,000, commensurate with experience.
