The Peach Truck is a classic fixture of summer in Nashville since 2012. We are one of the largest sellers of fresh peaches in the US. We are a staple in farmers markets in the Midwest, but also run peach tours where we schedule roadside stands across 30 states, bringing fresh peaches to hundreds of thousands of people.
Contract Details- Duration: 5 Months
- Schedule: Full Time, Wednesday-Sunday, 7am-5pm
- Compensation: $/Week
- Location: Nashville, Hybrid, beginning of season largely in office, tapering off as season progresses. Weekends always work from home.
- Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations for our final mile tour trucks and farm linehauls.
- Set-up TMS for season to operate smoothly
- Learn our standard operating procedures for pickup/delivery and communicate them clearly to all our trucks and cross docks
- Escalate any failures to comply with our processes and policies
- Assign and monitor routes, ensuring on-time deliveries and pickups.
- Oversee SC intern(s) work and check for accuracy.
- Operate daily inside the TMS to create BOLs, tender shipments, and monitor trucks.
- Coordinate closely with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams to resolve delivery or scheduling issues.
- Optimize routing and scheduling to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor inventory levels within trucks to assist in planning refills
- Track and report on internal systems & KPIs such as on-time performance, route efficiency, and PO Tracker.
- Manage dispatch software systems and ensure accurate data entry and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure service standards are met.
- Train and supervise dispatch staff or contractors as needed.
- Analyze logistics performance and recommend process improvements.
- Experience: 3+ years in transportation dispatch, logistics coordination, or fleet management (supervisory experience required).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in dispatch management systems (e.g., Samsara, McLeod, Trimble, TMW, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. - Knowledge: Strong understanding of DOT regulations, routing optimization, and freight logistics, cross docking, appointment scheduling, electronic logging, hours of service
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making abilities; proven capacity to thrive under pressure.
