Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage site transportation, oversee the shipment of inbound and outbound goods, focus on cost and transit time, and develop logistics processes.
- Develop strategic transportation plans by analyzing schedules, routings, and consolidation opportunities.
- Develop and maintain logistics supplier KPIs; lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance.
- Maintain and analyze freight spend data; identify areas of opportunity and drive corrective actions.
- Review and validate (and/or approve) freight spend.
- Book, track and confirm critical shipments with consideration of incoterms, customer commitments and business needs.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers to ensure shipments align with business needs (customer expectations and financials).
- Communicate risk and mitigation plans around external logistics.
- Support Warehouse & Logistics Leadership team with ad hoc tasks and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education &
Qualification:
- High School Diploma is required.
- Associate's Degree or higher in Business or a related area is preferred.
Work Experience - Technical Knowledge:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Shipping, Transportation, or Logistics.
- Preferred experience with TMS or other freight tracking systems.

Skills:
- Experience in a customer‑related area or proven ability to work well with outside customers.
- Proficiency in job‑related computer activities.
- Proven communication skills.
- Ability to generate written communication and operate required office equipment.
- Ability to read and review written communication.
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow clear and distinct communication in English.
Behavioral
Skills:
- Ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously, including managing assignments from more than one customer during any given day.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems independently.
- Proficient in job‑related computer activities.
- Keen sense of priority and ability to assess priorities for each program.
Desirable Aspects:
- Experience in an international freight and parcel shipping environment.
- Familiarity with customs procedures.
- Experience working in TMS.
This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and monitoring computer screens. Finger dexterity is needed for telephone, computer, and copy machine use. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds may be required.
