Job Overview
Dispatcher II – breakdown coordinator responsible for coordinating and managing fleet operations at Cox Automotive. The role ensures vehicles are maintained and repaired promptly across a 24/7/365 schedule, and operates in a flexible work environment that can include remote work within the specified city, state, or region.
Responsibilities- Assess and assign all open events.
- Verify proper authorization has been obtained to dispatch the event.
- Assign the appropriate and nearest service provider to make requested repairs.
- Advise the customer of the estimated time of arrival and follow instructions according to their requirements.
- Inform supervisor on duty of any delays with the service provider’s estimated time of arrival or problems with repairs.
- Address problems and customer inquiries as they arise.
- Minimum:
High school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (dispatching for breakdown and/or tire, medium to heavy‑duty vehicle maintenance). A different combination such as an advanced degree or certification in a related discipline (Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technology) or 5 years of experience is also acceptable. - Proactive problem solver with strong knowledge of dispatching and multitasking.
- Preferred:
Degree in a related discipline or additional industry experience. - Availability to work flexible shifts in a 24/7/365 environment, including weekend, evening, and overnight shifts.
- Current authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Competitive hourly wages ($18.17–$27.31 per hour with potential for commission or incentive programs). Drug TestingPre‑employment drug testing is required. The position does not currently administer a drug test for marijuana.
Work ScheduleFlexible schedule with 24/7/365 coverage. Shifts include weekend, second (evening/night), and third (overnight) shift as required.
