Airport Fleet & Maintenance Manager
The Airport Fleet & Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing airport maintenance and fleet programs and personnel in the administration and operation of airport facilities, fleet equipment, fueling facility, and grounds. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a fleet of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, and all airport owned buildings.
This is a full-time, standard position that operates on a four-day work week This position also requires on-site work to be performed. Must be willing and physically able to work in extreme temperatures and variable weather conditions.
Hiring Range: $100,000 - $110,000 USD Annually
Total Base Pay Range: $68,922 - $125,176
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

Essential Duties- Manage the Airport Fleet and Airport Maintenance divisions. Coordinates with staff to ensure short-term and long-term project planning is being scheduled properly and target goals are met.
- Conduct bi-weekly meetings with all airport fleet and maintenance staff to ensure continuity between the two divisions.
- Conduct training on airport equipment for new employees and recurrent training and safety procedures for all employees.
- Manage the Airport Fleet Capital Purchasing Program. Partners with other airport departments and the Colorado Department of Transportation, Aviation Division for the selling and acquisition of airport equipment.
- Write specifications for the purchasing process for specialized and standard airport equipment and vehicles.
- Coordinates with other county departments to ensure that procurement and asset inventory policies and procedures are followed.
- Manages emergency and non-emergency building and fleet needs on a 24-hour basis.
- Assists with the compliance of FAA rules and regulations per the Airport Part 139 Certification.
- Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains tool inventories. Evaluates vehicles for transfer or replacement. Inspects new units. Assists with diagnosis, repair, and testing of vehicles. Supervises all building and equipment maintenance.
- Serve as the airport representative on certain contracted projects ensuring quality control, quality assurance, adherence to specifications, and contractor adherence to FAA rules and regulations.
- Respond to aircraft emergencies as an Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) to protect the life and property of airport users. Maintain training of maintenance staff to FAA standards. Training to become ARFF certified will be provided by the airport.
- Participate in mandatory snow removal operations with 12-hour shifts or until end of storm event. Operate multiple types of heavy snow removal equipment.
- Participate in mandatory On-call rotation. Take calls and return to the airport if necessary. Direct staff to return to the airport for airfield continuity. Provide continuous support to on-duty airfield and operations personnel during airport emergencies or in other situations as required.
- Supervises staff in area of responsibility. Administers and makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, granting leave, appraisals, and taking corrective action. Conducts performance evaluations and communicates short- and long-term goals and objectives. Submits personnel records and reports as required by the county. Assists and advises subordinates as necessary, resolves problems as non-routine situations arise, and ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
