Fleet Analyst
The Fleet Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to optimize the performance and efficiency of the company's fleet operations. Identifies opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced operational efficiency by evaluating metrics such as fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, vehicle downtime, and driver behavior. This role directly influences the optimization of fleet operations, providing actionable recommendations to improve performance. In addition to data analysis, the Fleet Analyst oversees the Mobile Resource Management program including GPS tracking, telematics, and asset management systems, ensuring the effective use of these tools.
The position provides support and training on Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Devices (ELD), contributing to compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree is required. Qualifying full-time fleet management, DOT, transportation operations, mobile resource management, or data analysis experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
- Three years of experience in fleet management, data analysis, or fleet automated systems is required.
- Must demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills for identifying trends, analyzing data, measuring performance, and developing recommendations for areas of improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SQL, SAS) is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Geo Tab and/or Samsara knowledge is a plus
Essential Functions:
The incumbent should be able to perform all the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.
Track and analyze the performance of the fleet, including fuel efficiency, maintenance schedules, and operational downtime. Identify trends and areas for improvement.
Monitor and report on fleet operating costs, including fuel consumption, maintenance, repairs, insurance, and leasing. Recommend cost-saving strategies.
Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, cost analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Present findings to management and suggest actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and serviced on time, minimizing downtime and extending vehicle lifespan.
Maintain accurate records of fleet vehicles, parts, and equipment. Track and manage vehicle acquisition, disposal, and fleet inventory.
Ensure the fleet adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety, environmental, and licensing requirements. Stay updated on any changes to laws or regulations affecting fleet operations.
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize fleet size, performance, and usage based on analysis of operational needs.
Assist in identifying and mitigating risks related to fleet operations, including safety hazards, security risks, and potential liability issues.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Berry Hill, TN office. The schedule is Monday through Thursday in-office, with remote work on Fridays. Occasional travel to field offices will be required.
Salary Range: $24.04–$26.44 per hour, based on experience.
