Staff Accountant

Description

We are a manufacturing company based in Ontario, CA. With a strong commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement, we are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team.

This role offers visibility to leadership, hands-on exposure to manufacturing accounting, and long-term growth potential.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support the month-end close process, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and understands cost accounting, inventory reconciliations, and GAAP compliance.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, inventory, fixed assets)

+ Perform general ledger account reconciliations

+ Support month-end and year-end close processes

+ Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis

+ Reconcile inventory and support cost accounting functions

+ Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation

+ Assist with audit preparation and documentation requests

+ Support budgeting and forecasting processes

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and system efficiencies

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

+ 2-5+ years of accounting experience

+ Manufacturing or cost accounting experience strongly preferred

+ Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP

+

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Dynamics, or similar)

+ Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)

+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

+ Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
