POSITION OVERVIEW:

Gold Star Foods is looking for a self-motivated JR. Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you’ll play an important part in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Posting journal entries and accruals
• Bankaccountreconciliations
• Assistwithpostingbank activityandpreparing bank account reconciliation for Gold Star Divisions
• Be the liaison between accounting team and the operational teams on forecasted spend to ensure recording appropriately in ledger.
• Assist with other month-end closing activities and provide management with reports, data, and analysis as requested formonth-end closing and various audits
• Assist with preparing monthly balance sheet, incomestatementand changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Work with the appropriate department to research and resolve discrepancy issues timely
• Review daily issues andworkwith the team to resolve
• Work with the Division
  
  Controller in completing a clear year end audit
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Food service distribution experience (Preferred) and/or supply chain experience (Plus)
• Experience with inventory cost accounting and understanding of accounting for manufacturing (Required)
• Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e.pivot tables & vlookups )
• Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software (Microsoft Navision / Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability todemonstrateadvanced analytic skills, including excellent mathematical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple levels and multiple departments within an organization
• Strong understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

EDUCATION/EXPIRENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer , monitors, phone , and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 10lbs.
