Day In The Life- Oversees advisory engagements and special studies related to government and public agency financial, operational, and industry issues.
- Applies knowledge and understanding of government industry standards and best practices related to finance and accounting in order to implement and adhere to agency policies, procedures, and financial reporting requirements.
- Manages a team performing routine assessments of processes, procedures, internal controls, and transactions in order to provide recommendations for improvements.
- Introduces efficiencies to applications in practice, or the understanding and usability of results to enhance the business decisions making process.
- Ensures cyclical accounting and financial reporting objectives of the client within the scope of the engagement are met including routine balance account reconciliations, monthly and quarterly journal entries, month end and year end closing duties, budget to actual analysis, and routine financial reporting.
- Utilizes Microsoft Excel advanced concepts to analyze large amounts of accounting data.
- Provides coaching and support to Associate and Senior Associate level staff through delegation and supervision of engagement tasks, hands‑on training with assigned tasks, review of work performed, and knowledge sharing of technical standards and industry best practices.
- Establishes and maintains effective client relationships in regard to advisory matters as well as coordinating the delivery of services.
- Evaluates the costs, benefits, and risks of alternative solutions to client problems or needs.
- Manages client billings to ensure they reflect work performed.
- Participates in the area of business development.
- Participates in community organizations and industry functions.
- Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
- Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- 5+ years of experience in the government industry.
- Valid Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the government industry, public agency business processes, and accounting principles.
- Demonstrates critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Skills in networking and developing business.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and calculators.
- Periodic out-of-town travel with overnight stay for business development, which may require using a personal vehicle.
Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Compensation(as applicable)
$68,750-$124,000. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
