We are seeking a Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with an established commercial specialty contractor serving projects throughout Southern California. This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys a fast-paced mix of estimating, customer relationship management, field coordination, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial specialty construction projects from estimating and pre-construction through closeout.
  • Develop scopes, budgets, proposals, schedules, and project documentation while tracking opportunities through CRM systems.
  • Serve as a primary contact for general contractors, clients, architects, vendors, and internal field teams.
  • Coordinate job-site activity, vendor support, project schedules, safety expectations, and quality control.
  • Conduct site visits throughout Southern California to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support successful completion.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships, support repeat business, and follow up on bids, service needs, and warranty requests.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay: $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Job Type: Direct hire, full-time.
  • Work Environment:
    Approximately 50% office and 50% field after training.
  • Location:

    Pomona, CA, with projects throughout Southern California, including as far south as San Diego.
  • Training:
    Structured 3 to 6 month onboarding program.
  • Performance Bonus:
    Gross-margin-based bonus available upon advancement to full Project Manager status.
  • Company Vehicle:
    Provided upon advancement to full Project Manager status, with company-paid fuel for job-site travel.

  • Extended hours and occasional weekend hours may be required during peak seasons or larger projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in specialty contracting or commercial flooring.
  • Experience with epoxy coatings, concrete coatings, resinous flooring, or similar specialty trades.
  • Experience working with general contractors, architects, commercial clients, and repeat house accounts.
  • Familiarity with job walks, pre-bid meetings, bid boards, proposals, scopes of work, and schedule of values.
  • Candidates who are humble, proactive, relationship-focused, and motivated by both personal growth and team success.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • 1+ year of commercial construction experience in an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, or similar role may be considered.
  • 2+ years of commercial construction experience is preferred for full Project Manager consideration.
  • Residential construction experience alone does not meet the commercial construction requirement.
  • Manage short-duration commercial construction and specialty contracting projects from planning through closeout.
  • Develop estimates, scopes, budgets, schedules, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate field teams, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to support timely and profitable project delivery.
  • Support customer development, bid follow-up, and relationship management with commercial construction partners.
  • Experience supporting the project lifecycle from estimating through closeout.
  • Ability to work in a role that combines estimating, project operations, customer communication, and business development.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, project documentation tools, schedules, RFIs, change orders, daily reports, and related project records.
  • Strong communication, organization, follow-up, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Southern California, including as far south as San Diego.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to identify priorities, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively with customers, coworkers, vendors, and leadership.
