Special Education Teacher Associate-Middle School

Job Goal

To assist in providing a well‑organized, fun and safe environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

A Teacher Associate is an extension of the classroom teacher. He or she helps students carry out tasks as assigned, does not initiate learning activities or teach, and guides students individually or in small groups according to the classroom teacher’s directions. The associate’s main role is to work with students and to maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information expected of fully certificated teachers.

Outdoor duties, including recess and bus responsibilities, may also be required.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
