Senior Electrical Engineer (Ontario, CA / Los Angeles, CA)

IMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Ontario, CA, or Los Angeles, CA to lead electrical system design efforts for moderate to complex building projects. In this role, you'll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients-supporting positive outcomes through engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.

You'll also support project budgets, contribute to training and mentoring, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

• Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
• Perform site assessments and develop detailed analysis and technical reports
• Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively
• Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
• Provide in‑process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence
• Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
• Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staff
• Train, mentor, and motivate staff
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work; identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
• Participate in project interviews and project presentations

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
• Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
• Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, Tech Street, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
• Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
• Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
• Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
• Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
• Strong training and mentoring skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
