SAS & Mainframe Application Support Engineer – Atlantis IT Group (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
Responsibilities- Build new capabilities and investigate systems.
- Provide production support for Java applications and Mainframe applications, handling job abends.
- Diagnose and investigate Level‑3 application incidents, collaborating with the TD group to eliminate root causes.
- Document and report incidents from receipt through resolution for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents.
- Provide temporary or permanent solutions to incidents.
- Participate in weekend on‑call support.
- 8+ years of experience in IT support or similar roles.
- Knowledge of SAS Base and macro programming.
- Experience with UNIX/AIX shell scripting and DB2 database SQL (or general SQL).
- Background in SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Interactive, SAS Management Console, and job schedulers such as CA7 and Auto Sys.
- Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
- Experience in ITSM Incident Management, Application Support, and Upgrade Support.
- Java J2EE programming, SOAP‑based web services, Spring, Hibernate, Unix, MKSS trust, and JSF programming.
- Exposure to mainframe tools and products like JCL, PROCS, TSO, ISPF, z/OS, IBM utilities.
- Experience with Cobol, SAS programming, and mainframe data structures (VSAM, DB2).
